CMS leads the drive to plant saplings during Van Mahotsav

Lucknow, July 6 : City Montessori School, Rajajipuram Campus I students took the lead to launch a massive campaign for a green and friendly environment by planting trees in huge number and creating an awareness to protect the earth during Van Mahotsav Week from 1 to 7 July. The Tree Plantation Drive was inaugurated here today by the Chief Guest, Renowned environmentalist, Dr Heera Lal, IAS, Special Secretary, Irrigation, UP, by planting a sapling on the school campus. Addressing the people present, Dr Heera Lal said that this environmental drive will bring about immense positive change in the attitudes and life-style of people and also conserve our precious environment by driving out the pollution from the earth’s atmosphere. He praised the students of CMS for their hard work and potential in taking up social causes whilst also achieving excellence in all their projects and studies.

          Under this tree plantation drive, the students of CMS Rajajipuram Campus I not only created an awareness to save the environment from pollution and degradation, they also took a pledge to work for the conservation and cleanliness of the environment. On this occasion, they planted fruit bearing and shady trees which will, one day, provide food and shelter to people and animals. Besides this, special attention was given to plant those trees which provide oxygen, medicine and which keep the atmosphere clean and free of germs. Senior Principal of CMS Rajajipuram Campus I, Mrs Nisha Pandey said on this occasion that CMS students are very much concerned and aware regarding the environment and issues related to it and they are contributing valuably to keep the atmosphere clean and the earth green, conserve the earth’s resources like water, energy, soil and air by developing various projects and schemes in this direction.

          Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Rishi Khanna said that all 21 Campuses of CMS are carrying out tree plantation drives, projects, posters, slogan writing and other programmes during the Van Mahotsav Week. In this chain of events, a massive tree plantation drive was also launched at Shalimar OneWorld Campus under the guidance of Principal, Ms Priyanka Agarwal. The enthusiasm of the students, on this occasion, was worth watching, They planted each sapling with utmost care after preparing the soil and then watered the little plants carefully, showing great eagerness to watch them grow. Mr Khanna said that the problem of pollution and environmental degradation is not limited to any one nation. It transcends the boundaries and calls for a concerted effort of all the nations. We must all be conscious of saving the earth from the gnarls of environmental pollution and check global warming and climate change. The future generation must inherit a green and clean earth. The present generation must receive education of the environment and take practical measures to prevent the problem from accelerating any further. In this way, the younger generation becomes environmentally conscious and takes the lead to take up new and useful projects with renewed zeal and vigour.
