Dr Bharti Gandhi calls for environment protection after planting sapling in memory of Dr Jagdish Gandhi


 

Lucknow, July 8 : Founder-Director of City Montessori School and renowned educationist,Dr Bharti Gandhi and CMS Manager, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon along with several staff members of CMS, planted a tree today in the memory of CMS Founder Late Dr Jagdish Gandhi, who was a doyen of education and a renowned social activist. The tree plantation drive was held today at the CMS Head Office wherein all the CMS Officers, administrators and staff members assembled on the green lawns of the CMS Headquarters and planted saplings. They also sang songs for conservation of environment and praised the gifts of nature bestowed upon the earth and its people by the Almighty God.   

          In her address on this occasion, Dr Bharti Gandhi said that late Dr Jagdish Gandhi was not only a great educationist but also championed social causes like tree plantation, earth conservation, environmental protection and cleanliness drives. He provided strong leadership to the student community and paved the way for a clean and healthy earth environment for the coming generations. CMS Manager, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon opined that trees not only give us shade and fruits, they also stand as sentinels and guard the earth and its environment giving us oxygen and absorbing the carbon dioxide that is harmful for our health. CMS President, Dr Roger David Kingdon expressed profound happiness on seeing the enthusiasm and awareness among CMS staff members towards environmental conservation.   

          CMS Public Relations Officer, Mr Rishi Khanna informed that a massive tree plantation drive along with various informative activities such as poster making, slogan writing, collage making, poetry writing, skit etc. are being carried out these day at all 21 CMS Campuses in order to raise awareness for environment conservation. He said that CMS is an institution where students, parents and society join hands to spread the message, “Paryawaran Bachao, Dharti Ko Sajao” in all directions. All 63,000 students of CMS, their parents and guardians are involved in this huge campaign inspiring Lucknowites to become aware of the urgent need for Environmental Protection.
