InIMC will majorly contribute to developing mathematical skills in students — Shri Suryapal Gangwar, IAS, DM, Lucknow

Lucknow, July 27 : CMS Kanpur Road auditorium witnessed the grand inaugural ceremony of 5-day India International Mathematics Competition (InIMC-2024) organized by City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar Campus I amidst colourful educational-cultural items. The programme was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Shri Suryapal Gangwar, IAS, District Magistrate, Lucknow. On this occasion, CMS students presented a scintillating cultural programme in honour of the participants from 30 countries, while the presence of distinguished gathering of maths experts Dr Simon L Chua from Philippines, Mr Wen Hein Sun from Taiwan and Mr Vladislav Marinov from Bulgaria etc. made the function unforgettable. It is worth mentioning here that InIMC-2024 is being organized from 27 to 31 July at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium in which over 1000 young mathematicians and maths experts from 30 countries of the world are participating.  At the inaugural ceremony, CMS students mesmerized everyone with their wonderful presentations of Vande Mataram, All Religion Prayer, Choreography-Marvel of Math, World Parliament and a series of songs and dances.

                Addressing the august gathering on the occasion, the Chief Guest, Shri Suryapal Gangwar said that CMS efforts in bringing the young mathematicians to compete on a common platform are indeed praiseworthy. This event has provided a golden opportunity to the students and I am confident that this international competition will play an important role in enhancing the mathematical and analytical talent of the students. Ahead of this, CMS Manager, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon heartily welcomed the Chief Guest and other eminent guests saying that the objective of this conference is to make children skilled mathematicians who are sensitive to the needs of humanity and use their knowledge for new innovations and scientific development. Convener of InIMC-2024 and Principal of CMS Gomti Nagar Campus I, Mrs Abha Anant said that this event is a golden opportunity for students of different countries to showcase their abilities on a global platform.

                Earlier, the participating students of 30 countries of the world, who arrived here at Lucknow to participate in 'InIMC-2024', met the media persons today in the afternoon and informed them about their ardent desire to learn and innovate and make way for a society based upon global thinking and universal values. On this occasion, they said in one voice that they will use their knowledge for the benefit and progress of the entire human race. Participating countries at InIMC-2024 include Bolivia, Botswana, Bulgaria, Bangladesh, Canada, China, Cyprus, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, Nepal, Peru, Philippines, Romania, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Tunisia, Uganda, Uzbekistan, United States of America, Vietnam and India.

                CMS Public Relations Officer, Mr Rishi Khanna informed that Mathematics competitions at InIMC-2024 will be held tomorrow on Sunday, 28th July from 8.30 am, which include individual contest and team contest. Apart from this, participating students from India and abroad will also visit historical monuments and places of interest in Lucknow. A colourful musical evening' has been organized in honour of the participating students and mathematics experts, on Monday, 29th July from 6.00 pm at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. Participants from various countries will also present an array of songs and dances highlighting the culture of their respective countries.
