Participants from India and abroad win hearts with their artistic and intellectual talents

August 12 : The second day of four-day International Children’s Olympiad was
full of interesting competitions and rich exchange of ideas. While on one hand,
students of Sri Lanka, Nepal and various parts of India competed fiercely for
medals, on the other hand all the students bubbled with enthusiasm and creative
energy. Events like Wordless Wonders (music and dance) and Sustainovation
Showcase (Digital Presentation), won the hearts of the onlookers with their
innovative and artistic content.
The International Children’s
Olympiad competitions began with Wordless Wonders today. Participating
students left an indelible stamp of their genius through music and dance based
on the theme ‘The Sound of Dance, where Music takes Form’ in which the strains
of music combined with colourful costumes and elegant dance steps. Some of the
presentations were Krishna Leela Ballet Dance, Kathakali Dance, Kumaoni Dance,
Nepali Folk Dances, Kuchipudi Dance, Religious Unity Dance etc which drew a
vision of a society based upon unity, peace and harmony. Judges were full of
praise for the high standards exhibited in music and dance. Similarly, in Sustainovation
Showcase (Digital Presentation) competition, students showcased their
abilities in computer science and innovation. They prepared multimedia
presentations on Artificial Intelligence Spark, Sustainablity Arc, Environmental
Conservation, Renewable Energy Solution, Urban Planning, Healthcare Innovation
etc., thus showcasing their talents in technical skills and consciousness of
global isses that need immediate action.

Khanna said that participating students of the International
children’s Olympiad are giving expression to their thoughts and ideas and
developing their skills through mutual interaction. With a perfect fusion of
science and art, the Olympiad is moving forward successfully. Tomorrow, on 13th
of August, the final day of the Olympiad, the morning session will see the
Tintinabulations (Jingles) Contest, and thereafter at 2.00p.m. there will be
the prize distribution and closing ceremony. Prize-winners will be honoured with
attractive prizes, shields, medals and certificates on this occasion.
